We moved to our lake cottage every summer in Indiana and were constantly outside playing, swimming, boating and just enjoying nature. I love that I can bring together my education, experience and passion for the outdoors in my role here at KVLT. I believe it is important for people to enjoy nature, to appreciate it, and then hopefully want to help conserve it.

Having grown up in Lancaster County seeing the fast development of Indian Land, and spending weekends hunting in Kershaw and Chester Counties with my dad, I have witnessed our beautiful landscape dramatically change over the years. I want to actively protect our natural resources in the Catawba River Valley while promoting smart development. My passion is encouraging curiosity and admiration of the unique ecology all around us. I hope to inspire my community to invest in our native species that provide us a functioning ecosystem.

I grew up in the mountains of Virginia, spending my childhood exploring the outdoors until twilight (and sometimes after), where I developed a deep love of nature. Weekends and vacations still include much time spent in nature, no matter the time of year, to recharge. I couldn’t be more excited to join a mission-driven organization that works so passionately to protect and celebrate the natural spaces of this beautiful area, and that educates the public on the importance of land conservation.
