Board Members

I became a board member because I understand the beauty and power of natural surroundings. I am passionate about the protection of our natural resources, and I enjoy educating the public.

I serve on the board because of my connection to children and families – I want them to have the opportunity to play and learn in the outdoors and be connected to their native community.

I’ve long cared about this region. I grew up playing in the fields and watching fireflies. My love of nature and our community drew me to the land trust and I look forward to learning more and sharing my passion with others.

I see KVLT as a force that seeks to be more mindful about the changes that growth brings to our area, which as a native of Lancaster is a big concern for me. Our natural resources are gifts we must preserve and utilize to enrich everyone who lives and visits here.

As an avid outdoorsman, I appreciate the beauty and wonders of nature, which is why KVLT’s goals for land conservation, water quality and historic preservation are very important to me. We should strive to leave future generations a sustainable environment.

I am on the board because I have been intrigued and devoted to land conservation and practices for many years. I befriended the late Lindsay Pettus over 20 years ago who showed me the vast beauty and historical preservation of the area.

When I think back about where my love of nature comes from I would say it was spending so much time outside hunting and fishing as a kid. I am a graduate of Lancaster High School and USC. I am President of Builders Supply Company in Lancaster.

I am excited about the opportunity to serve on the KVLT Board because I have always felt the need to protect our land and be a good steward of the land while working with others for smart growth and development.
